What is Rhythm's 30-Day Test Drive?
Our 30-Day Test Drive is our way of making you feel confident in signing up with Rhythm. We give you 30 days to decide. You have 30 days from the date you start services with Rhythm. We think you’re going to love Rhythm. If you don’t? Leave us early without the penalty.
Please note: After the first 30 days, we will charge an early termination fee (ETF) of $10-$20 for each whole month remaining in your contract, depending on the plan selected.
What is the Refer A Friend program?
Our Refer A Friend program allows existing customers to give and receive 10,000 Points ($100 value) for referring friends and family to sign-up with Rhythm.
- How do I refer a friend to Rhythm?
Copy your unique referral link from the “Refer A Friend” button at the top of your customer portal and send it to your friend. Your friend will need to use your unique link to sign-up.
- When do I collect my referral bonus?
If you have referred a friend, you will receive your referral points once both you and your friend have been with Rhythm for 60 days. Both you and your friend must be active with Rhythm and current on all your Rhythm bills to be eligible to receive the referral reward.
Please note: Referred customer must enroll in a non-Solar Buyback Plan of 12 months or longer.
What if I forgot my Rhythm Energy online username or password?
From the online account login screen, select “Forgot Password”. Enter the email you have registered with us. Check your email for the reset password email and then follow the prompts to reset your password.
Is there an early termination fee if I cancel service with Rhythmt Energy?
If you cancel your plan within 14 days of its expiration, there will be no cancelation fee. However, all electricity plans have early termination fees, which may differ by plan. Please take a look at your terms of service to see if you are subject to an early termination fee.
Will Rhythm reimburse my current supplier's Early Termination Fee?
Yes! Switching providers rarely happens on the timeline you want.
That’s why we offer a reimbursement of up to $150 for early termination fees from your previous supplier when you switch to Rhythm.
Plus, we offer a 30-Day Easy Energy Promise which means you’ve got one month to try us out or leave us early without the penalty.

- Here’s how to get reimbursed for your old provider’s early termination fee after you switch to Rhythm:
- Within 60 days of starting service on any Rhythm plan, send us an email with the following attached:
- 1. A copy of your bill from your old supplier that shows you were charged an early termination fee to switch to Rhythm.
- 2. The receipt for the payment you made to that supplier to pay the early termination fee.
As soon as we get the documentation, our team will verify it and then apply loyalty points equal to the value of your old supplier’s early termination fee up to $150 that can be redeemed for bill credits. Make sure you pay your bills with Rhythm on time so you can get your reimbursement after your 91st day of active service with Rhythm.
Please note: You will only be eligible for this early termination fee reimbursement one time and participants in any of Rhythm’s Solar Buyback plans or Variable Plans are not eligible. Customers must not have any past-due charges to be eligible for the credit to be applied.
Will I be charged a fee to switch from my current provider to Rhythm Energy?
If you require expedited service or choose a specific day for your service to begin, your TDSP may assess a fee which will appear on your first month’s bill as a separate line item.
Does Rhythm Energy offer renewable plans?
Energy resources that are naturally replenished are considered renewable. They include wind, biomass, hydro, geothermal and solar, among others. Rhythm’s plans are backed by 100% renewable energy.
We’re proud to sell only 100% renewable energy. We do so because we want the same things as you: healthy air for our families, thriving lakes and rivers for swimming and fishing, and a flourishing planet.
Will Rhythm purchase my excess solar electricity?
Rhythm’s distributed renewable generation buyback program incentivizes customers with solar panels.
Solar panels provide a way for customers to produce their own energy and sell their excess electricity back to the grid through net metering. This is commonly referred to as a solar buyback.
For Rhythm’s Solar Buyback Plans, Rhythm will look at how much electricity the customer used (electricity for which the customer pays Rhythm), and then deduct the credit for surplus generation (electricity for which Rhythm credits the customer). Our solar buyback plan credits have no cash value and can only be redeemed for Rhythm bill credits, but can be rolled over each month.
The export rate for the solar buyback credits will be different than your energy rate, but these credits can be used toward electric bills, the base charge, TDSP charges, and taxes. They can’t be used toward non-commodity charges.
Solar Buyback Credits can only be used for Energy Charges for the meter that they were received on.

- How to Qualify?
- 1. Customer must have solar panels installed on your home.
- 2. Customer must be a resident in a deregulated part of Texas.
- 3. Customer must have an Interconnection Agreement in place with their utility and have Permission to Operate.
- 4. Customer must contact Rhythm Customer Care to be enrolled in Rhythm’s distributed renewable generation buy-back program.
Excess electricity/surplus generation is defined as any amount of energy produced that your home does not use, is pushed back to the electric grid, and read by the transmission and distribution provider.
Enrollment in Rhythm’s distributed renewable generation buyback program is on a go-forward basis.

Do I need to send a cancellation to my current provider?
No, if you are switching to Rhythm, we will notify your prior provider of the switch through ERCOT.
This is true whether you are under contract with your prior provider or not.

If you are moving into a new location, make sure to request a move out for the prior location with the provider serving it. If it’s Rhythm, awesome! We’ll process a transfer of service and get everything situated. If it is a different provider, you’ll need to contact that provider to request the move out.
