When can I expect my first Budget Power bill?
You should expect your first bill from Budget within about 35 days from the date you began service. You will receive an email notification when your online statement is available.
What if I forgot my Budget Power online username or password?
Navigate to “Account Management” and then “Manage My Account” to access their online portal login screen. Select “Forgot Password?” on the login screen and then follow the prompts to reset it.
You will need your Budget Power Account Number and the Email Address you used to register your account.
Is there an early termination fee if I cancel service with Budget Power?
Cancellation fees may differ by plan. Please refer to your terms of service to see if you are subject to an early termination fee.
Budget Power early termination fees generally range from $150-$300 depending on the length of your electricity plan term. The longer the term, e.g. 24+ months, the higher your early termination fee.
How do I setup automatic recurring payments with Budget Power?

How do I check the status of my new service?
Your online account (once you have created it) will provide you with the status of your enrollment. In the event that you do not wish to create your online account, you can call us at 1 (888) 699-0747 during normal business hours to get an update on your enrollment status.
Will I be charged a free to switch from my current provider to Budget Power?
If you require expedited service or choose a specific day for your service to begin, your TDSP may assess a fee which will appear on your first month’s bill as a separate line item.
What if a deposit is required?
Based on your credit score (or if we have an issue verifying your identity), you may be notified during the enrollment process about a deposit requirement.

How to Read Your Budget Power Electric Bill
Account Information
- 1. Account Number – A unique account number that has been assigned to you by Budget Power. Please note that this may be different from your old account number.
- 2. Bill Number – A unique identifier specific to the billing statement for the month in which this bill was generated.
- 3. Bill Date – The date on which your bill was issued
- 4. Billing Address – The address Budget Power has on record for all the correspondence mailed to you.
- 5. Electric Service identifier (ESI ID#) – The unique number that identifies your electric service location. This is not the same as your account number.
- 6. Service Address – The address at which the electricity is being supplied.
Billing Information
- 7. Bill Period – The dates during you were supplied electricity and for which this bill was generated.
- 8. Bill Summary – A summary that shows the following:
- • Previous Balance, which is the unpaid balance from the previous bill;
- • New Charges, which reflect the sum of all electric service charges including applicable sales and taxes for the current Bill Period;
- • Payments/Adj, which reflect payments and/or adjustments received by Budget Power since the previous bill;
- • Due Amount, which is the total amount due by the Due Date to avoid the Late Penalty; and
- • Due Date, which is the date by which your payment is due to avoid the late Payment Penalty.
Usage Information
- 9. Energy Usage Calculation – A summary that shows the following:
- • Meter, which is the unique number that identifies Service Address Meter;
- • Type, which identifies whether your bill is based upon an actual or an estimate usage. In the event yuor bill is based on a usage estimated by your transmission and Distribution Service Provider (“TDSP”), you will see “Est” written in this section;
- • Date, which reflects the current Billing Period;
- • Curr. Rd, which shows the current numerical reading on your meter by yoyr TDSP;
- • Prev. Rd, which shows the numerical reading on your meter from the previous reading by your TDSP;
- • Mult, which is the multiplier used to calculate your bill; and
- • Usage, which is the amunt of energy in kilowatt hours (“kWh”) consumed during the current billing cycle.
Charges
- 11. Sales Taxes – Sales tax collected by authorized taxing authorities, such as the state, cities, and special purpose districts.
- 12. Total Amount Due – The amount you are required to pay by the due date to avoid a Late Payment Penalty.
Other Information
- 14. Budget Power Contact Information – Budget Power’s physical address, customer service phone number, e-mail address, and Public Utility Commission of Texas (“PUCT”) license number.
- 15. TDSP Contact Information – The mailing address, main phone number, and outage phone number for your local TDSP.
- 16. Usage History – A graph that shows your historical monthly usage patterns for up to 13 months. Please note that the graph will start reflecting your usage history beginning with this new bill format and continue to populatw with each subsequent month going forward.
- 17. Late Payment Penalty – A charged assessed for late payments in accordance with the PUCT.
